Hi Kaunas, yes if anything our politicians should have extra protection against assault or intimidation as it represents an attack on our political freedom. If our politicians cannot speak without the fear of assault then what hope is there for a discussion. Seems its OK to support assault if you happen to disagree with the person being assaulted.

Perhaps a doubling of sentence or a minimum jail term sentence if convicted of assaulting a politician?

Try assaulting a Judge at their place of work and see how you fare. Perhaps its time our politicians were given similiar status.

If charged/convicted will any funds recieved from supporters be confiscated under the proceeds from crime act?
