I'm sympathetic towards responsible gun owners.

I used to be a gun owner myself before ownership requirements became too strict for the casual user that I became over time.

I liked my guns.
I enjoyed maintaining them.
I used to take them with me on holiday in the bush.
Shooting and fishing for food to get away from the daily grind of long work hours.

Although I'm really surprised that gun ownership rules are so relaxed in New Zealand. I had no idea you could legally obtain those types of semi automatics synonymous with mass killings.
