The stockmarket is most definitely NOT a zero sum game. It is the wealth creation engine of a capitalist society and and when functioning well will increase wealth and grow the size of the pie.
Of course there are losers as well as winners (ie good decisions and bad decisions) which is why research, prudence and careful decisions are needed but if you make money from it, it does not mean that you must have made it a someone elses expense.
