A very good post in general but I think you largely focus on is Novated Lease which is small compared to Operating Lease.
Operating lease is where ECX also exposed to residual value risk. The client leases the cars over a period of time. After the lease finished, the vehicle is returned to ECX to be sold through auction. If the vehicle sold less than the RV, ECX will make a loss.
