The History : I still own a unit in Hobart ( its vacant - never been rented ) but am a permanent resident in Botswana . There is no point me paying monthly Telstra rents now as I only return once a year . Point is I have tried everything on their webpage to no available - even the 24/7 help line takes the complaint then zilch when I mention cancellation ! Other aspects of the Telstra page are working ie , I can access my account and see what's what etc . Just been one of the more harrowing online experiences of my internet life actually and I don't see why I must make a mobile call to a call centre to justify why I wish to cancel ! Any advice truly appreciated and thanks in advance !

Simple! Send Telstra an email saying/confirming that you wish to cancel their service as of X date, and for them to send you a final account. Then, if a final account does not appear, don't pay any further bills. Your email proof of cancelation will eliminate legal action for recovery of spurious unpaid accounts.
