It didn't need to be Jacinta. It should have been any Kiwi PM, with just a smidgin of perception, who saw Howard's courageous stance against gun loving mongrels.
IMHO it was one of Howard's finest moments (amongst many others), especially when we take into consideration that it was contrary to the view of bulk of the Liberal party's main political ally; the National Party.
