    I don’t think you’ll be able to tell. If you have it in you to be a great parent, when you have them won’t matter. I know young and old parents who have great kids, and vice versa. I used to assume that older, career parents would have too high expectations of their nanny raised kids, but that’s not necessarily the case. You might think that younger parents would be better as they can remember their childhoods more clearly.

    There is too much information available now imo. If mothers search the net for stuff, their bombarded with 20 different ways to do something. My granddaughter has nappy rash. BOOM! Twenty things the Mum can do for it. A dozen things the Mum is doing wrong. Observe. She’s sucking her fingers. She’s a bit crankier than normal (and she is a very happy baby). 99% chance that she’s just got some more teeth coming through. Let her crawl around nappyless for a while, preferably in the sun. Don’t use baby wipes, Chux cut into quarters and wet with tap water do a much less irritating job (and are much cheaper).

    Talk to your mum. 200 generations of experience......
