well fbr is run by a troopy on steroids, fbr damm sure knows what is code and what is not, and to have a builder of the highest caliber to oversee the builds is a sign of professionalism in their field: construction.

I watched that on the couch video over the weekend and had a big laugh to myself, i heard him say "waterproofing", i must be just a dumb builder because I thought that stuff they were painting on the slab was just to high light the slab edge for the videos, but it's not it's waterproofing, then i had to ask myself what are they trying to waterproof, is it there to stop moisture in the wall migrating into the concrete slab or to stop moisture in the slab migrating into the wall, all it will do is assist water running down the wall to migrate inside at the point where the block meets the slab. What a complete balls up.

I've heard people compare the way FBR will build homes to how far we've come with mobile phones lol. Well i compare FBR and the way they are building with my old brick phone that i had 30 years ago.

So I've drawn a quick sketch just to outline how far we've come in building masonry brick homes and why we've designed slab rebates, flashings and damp proof coursing and how absolutely important it is to have a cavity and to pass building standards and local council requirements.
