We are talking 50% EVs by 2030 under Shorten. That's just 10 years away. Increased rego cost is the only viable way of making up the shortfall in road tax in Australia because there are just too many roads to have congestion metering on all of them. The increased rego will have to be a lot to make of for the lost fuel taxes ($1,000s per vehicle) .
