Perhaps they became aware of the Wesfarmers interest, and decided to open the door for other bidders to prepare an offer? It has been reiterated that they are keen to partner with an entity which offers expertise down the value chain and can help PLS leverage Pilgangoora into a big share of that. Feels like, perhaps, the Wesfarmers interest doesn't sit 100% well with management, and they are either hoping for a partner more conducive to their plans, or are now prepared to engage in good faith with pre-exisiting interest from such a partner. All pure theory, of course. Defining chapter coming up, I think.
