blue - You are 100% correct........only 1.3% of the population is directly employed in the mining sector........

    1.) What is your point??
2.) Do you honestly, for one second believe that the entire, massive, amount of wealth that has been created within this secotr is not passed onto the wider public???

    Consider this if you will......

A small, struggling, rural town, has a large iron ore deposit (30 years worth) identified, just on the outskirts. What happens now???

By your tripe, the mining company moves in and makes all the profit and no-one else benefits.......never mind the local agriculture providing to local business, which retains local infrastructure, which needs local accommodation, which requires local staff, which require local housing, which requires local utilities, which requires local staff/resources/infrastructure, which all require local schools/hospitals/doctors/police, etc, etc....

Seriously what's your problem with people making money.......you seem to be doing all right.........oh that's right you trade in gold and art........that's ok

By the way what's the average wage of workers in African and South American gold mines........just digging through the figures here trying to find it....maybe you can point it out for me........
