Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way that story reads is that the "recyclable" waste is being sent to Chinese owned companies who are running their plants in Malaysia. It seems a little misleading to claim that the end result of giant crap-holes is due to Australia treating Malaysia as a dumping ground, more that China isn't running its plants according to any sort of rules or regulations.
