King Abdullah has saved Jordan from much of the Arab Spring fallout. He has also implemented a process that will lead to a political democracy of sort.

Wonderful speech, would that it be so that Muslims were the type of person the king described, were true followers of the real teachings of Muhammad. They are not, just as Christians generally are not true followers of the Christ.

The Dajjal in Islam, the Antichrist in Christianity and the Armilus of the Jews is all one and the same. It is not a person! No one person will ever have the ability to present or captivate the world into such a false state of belief because false belief already exists at levels that exceed anything an actual Antichrist could ever hope to achieve.

The Antichrist / Daijal / Armilus, is a state of beguiling that happens almost without the person being aware. It is religion corrupted by man for centuries as is the state of Islam and Christianity today. It is religion of words and not deeds. It is materialism replacing the spiritual hunger to please Allah. It is the pursuit of weath and things over spiritual acquisitions. Materialism is greater and more powerful than all the kings and rulers to have ever lived.

One of its signs is ritualised religion, or religion steeped in rituals, preferred over a true search for knowledge. In the time of Muhammad He taught His followers to pray five times a day. This brought warring peoples together. It taught them discipline and goodly habits, but today it is a meaningless ritual, this is the Daijal, the lie, because it has become so meaningless. It offers some fellowship, a moment to meditate, to meet friends, but adds nothing to the spiritual life of the Muslim because it has become a tokenistic act of worship. Christians do it as well.

As for the Al Mahdi, it will be a long wait. I noticed that the Bab's religion lasted 19 years as was the claim made for the Al Mahdi. In its day it was the fastest growing religion on earth until many of its followers were cut down. It is also claimed that the Al Mahdi will return with Jesus and it is interesting that Baha'u'llah who followed the Bab eventually claimed to be the return of Jesus.

The Al Mahdi is not mentioned in the Quran of course, it is one of those pesky Hadith.

So a lot of death and destruction to come before the peace/justice/no more poverty/love thy neighbour times.

It doesn't have to be this way of course. This is not so much a prophecy, rather an observation that humans only make changes when they have to after great suffering.
