My best guess for the falls:
1. People are worried that the financial sector malaise owing to subprime will reduce volumes.
2. Prominent media coverage about threats to its business. I've read at least 2 "guest" columnist in the major dailies rant on about the need for their monopoly to be deconstructed. (op ed columns) one was a fairly well credentialed fellow from uni of melb (apparently he's advised other nations on economic matters)
They make a very strong case at first and with their background, if they make this issue a crusade you'd think they might get somewhere.
But IMHO the worries are overblown
