As I recall. the original business model was to licence the IP (slide 36 of 24/11/2015 BRN Investor presentation), and it was only later (2017/2018?) that we decided to make the hardware.
When you look back on it, there have been some remarkable developments in the last couple of years.

19 July 2017 Brainchip Studio launched
21 August 2017 BrainChip Studio Awarded New Product of the Year for VideoAnalytics by Security Today’s Panel of Independent Judges
12 September 2017 Brainchip Accelerator (world first) hardware increases speed of Brainchip Studio software
31 October 2107 $21M raised to fund AKIDA
AKIDA Development Environment 24 July 2018.
30 April 2018 AKIDA SNN kernel delivered to EU car maker.

That is pretty impressive -especially taking into account the wrong trees we barked up with the initial business plan and then marketing to end users. Two dead ends, and we are still in with a shot at having AKIDA by the end of the year.
