He left it open as to what would be done to suitably capitalise both vehicles. The open briefing states that Martin Purvis is likely to be the CEO of the continuing Straits assets.
I cannot see any downside to this proposal. The two separately should be worth more simply because the continuing assets were being valued at practically nothing by the market. We will all get an interest in each company. If we wish to sell either one, and keep the other, we can. But we should make money from the demerger. The only thing I am uncertain of is the capital gains tax roll over provisions impact. But I am assuming the company is applying for such relief.
