Me neither Pete and I'll continue to invest in the future (www.australianuts.com) but I believe we have left everything very late. Particularly with food production. Need to get to legume based and perennial agriculture. So dependent on fossil fuel are we currently that it will take many decades to ditch the addiction (plant breeding advancements will largely be the driver in efficiency) and whatever system is on the other side bet on volumes of food being well below where they need to be to suffice what we are running today. Assuming of course land for energy production doesn't move into the energy mix in a large way (we both know it will).

And in acknowledging we have moved beyond the optimal carrying capacity how do we get back to that number without wars and social unrest?
