What I am suggesting is not that any one off the street would create a knock off version, but that a well established healthcare company with a big reputation could very well copy the technology once the patent expires and integrate it into their own product line.

This may very well include well established companies that already sell products to treat burns. For example, Integra Life Sciences currently ssells their Dermal Regeneration Template which is used to treat burns. What if they decide that they could also replicate and sell their own version of ReCell too? They already have the distribution network, sales teams, doctors will know their brand extremely well so it's not like some random chinese company is popping up out of nowhere.

This is an example of a well established player with a well known trusted brand amongst medical professionals, using their size and existing distribution networks in selling other products that could decide to undercut ReCell and take market share. Yes it will cost money, but these companies would be extremely well resourced to fund it and the approval process is much easier than creating something brand new. They only need to demonstrate that it is essentially the same.

The only thing that makes ReCell special is it's IP. Once that is over, the only other advantage is the first mover advantage. The sad thing is, this ReCell was invented a long time ago and the previous mob completely fluffed it and destroyed a lot of value.
