Market doesn't seem to like the announcement of Macquarie's new phone competition. To all these people saying that 'Australia's population can't handle a 3rd competitor' well Mac are some pretty smart people and you'd think they would have some serious impact on the market if they think they can compete in an already very competitive market.
This surely bodes well for TPG and VOD merger to be able to merge into the 3rd player (with TLS and OPTUS) then leaving Macquarie as a 4th entity and then competition resumes between 4 large companies.
Just seems a no brainer to allow the merge, let a domestic competitor line in 5G. If you are gonna ban Huwaei, at least let another domestic company create a 5G line
Anyway DYOR just IMO, but it just seems really irrational if they do not allow the merge.
