I think @ahjay can better answer this but in case you are putting the question to the forum, here is a consideration;

It has been mentioned that IMM has expressed reluctance to fund further expansion(or trials ?) itself, whilst being open to outside investor funding. I note we have a lot of shares on issue. I wonder (please read as is, not saying that it is the case), if this reluctance is perhaps forced but still a good thing as funding further ventures and expansion internally means CR and consequently dilution. If that were to happen, the likelihood of a share consolidation rises. In my opinion/experience a consolidation, while may be nothing evil in theory, in practice and based on historical statistical evidence (not anecdotal examples), means BAD news to shareholders, particularly those loyal holders who perhaps bought at premium prices. If in doubt, you may like to search company announcements on HotCopper using :consolidation as key word and then simply chart the companies that show up in last however many years, and see for yourself what has happened to share price. A word of caution in interpreting the those charts ... a spike in share price is not a rise in share price but simply due to consolidation!

So, to come back to the question, injection of funds, hopefully in some form of "off-take agreement" is, in my opinion, the only option for a company which has been on a lengthy road to productivity and as a results perhaps too many shares on the register to afford CR with SPP. A footnote on this is my impression that "sophisticated investors" coming into this consideration may just be a glossy sugarcoated way of increased the shares on the register (and hence dilution). So, hopefully any anticipated injection of funds will be through off-take agreements.

Now, back to the topic of this thread, I also like to know what an injection of external fund means/does, to the bottom line SP, e.g., whether a spike or a kick start to where the SP will hopefully head to or should be..

So, I appreciate @ahjay's or anyone's response who can provide content.
