    hi imperial

ignore the head in sand lot - they will wake up one day and realise you were right.

in truth tho that is a very difficult question to answer.

i buy bits of bullion every now and then and have intentions of selling when the taxi drivers tell me what a fantastic opportunity it is (that is if we still have cash).

i do believe one should start stocking up on essentials like vitamins, first aid, and growing a bit of a vegi patch with chooks as a food source.

i reckopn that a severe depression is soon to hit for many reasons but one contributiong factor is going to be a shortage of food. at the moment we are close to or already in a stagflationary cycle which i dont see getting any better. fuel is only going to keep rising and as a consequence everything else will as well. zimbabwe today australia tomorrow. it was very smart of the libs to lose the election. who would want to govern in a period of rising and uncontrollable prices. and dont expect rudd to have the answers because he wont

people will buy gold because they believe it is a hedge and to some degree it is but eventually it too will be worthless. how are you going to walk into a shop and pay for something with an ounce of gold when you will have hungry people looking over your shoulder. everything will need to be done quietly and without fanfare.

in such times it might be better without such things because you may have to defend it and are you prepared to shoot someone?

how to survive a depression? good health for a start.

received info from the us recently and during the day it all lokks normal (california) but at night it looks like a scene from i am legend. all the homeless druggies and dregs of society along with what were once middle class people come out onto the streets. not a pretty picture

i agree with atomou tho that it will be a nightmare
