surviving a depression, page-72

I wonder if we posted so much on this, in the tradition of gossip, media exaggeration, etc, etc... we could even help create a depression. Quick, bail out of everything, pull all your money out of the bank, sell all your houses, head for the hills. I can just see the ACA item now, with that "be afraid, be very afraid" tone of voice.

"Mr Birdfluliddle has set up his secret bunker. He doesn't want us to let on where he is, but let's just say it's a long way from suburbia. We do have actual footage of him buying up a shopping trolley load of 250g chocolate bars recently on sale, but he has suppressed us televising this through his legal representatives. Said Mr Birdfluliddle, I have also purchased an automatic gun, well, actually, a dozen of them and about ten thousand rounds of ammo, a missile launcher and am in negotiations to purchase an old (but still goes like a bomb) suitcase nuclear bomb. People say I'm crazy, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do."

On a serious note, if we were to have an extended rough economic trot, we should probably aim on a political level to sure up our future water, food and energy supplies. Any positive ideas as to how the government(s) can do this?
