It may be a myth but as far as i know there is a time factor involved as well. 15 gave a re-apply time of 150min, 30 300mins and 50 500mins. Of course the 8 hour coverage is the ultimate.
SPF 15 allows 3 x the amount of damaging UV rays compared to SPF 50
I don't think this formula holds true without the time included.
Anyway, i need to try the SPF 50 and see how comfortable it is to wear.
Most 50s are gluggy and hot which is not a problem in the surf.
