Mate, I have one of Telstra's new smart modems which comes with it's own Sim card which means if my landline goes down the modem automatically connects to the Telstra mobile 4G network and sends an sms advising it happened.
I've had this happen once in the past 12 months.
I'm wondering if we can have the same situation with 5G network when it's up.

Wireless can serve a purpose as a backup for when the landline goes down but I don't feel that it will ever seriously compete with fibre for home internet.
