Regarding the .7C drop in Share Price on Friday:

Does anyone on here understand shorting or SP manipulation/churning and stock bashing? In Layman's for shorting: You approach an institution that has lots of shares in x publicly listed company. You buy x shares (generally a lot) from them and then sell the shares at market price. This generally causes the SP to drop, so you buy x number of shares you received to give back to the broker + many extra from your personal money, causing the SP to go back up for a profit

It's a double win if you do this on the brink of an announcement as your on-market sell will generally make retail investors incredibly nervous and may cause a snowball slump as they sell in a panic thinking there is a leaky ship. If the announcement is positive, you make twice as much.

Price manipulation works sort of in the same way. All it would take is an Employee from an institution/firm to jump onto the FBR hotcopper forum, read this thread and realize that there are a lot of retail investors on edge at the moment. The R.I's mindset isn't positive, the manipulator knows this and thus preys on it. Their convertible notes convert for more shares at a cheaper price. They may also churn the stock by placing both buy and sell orders at a similar price to pique interest which benefits their shorting. It's all dependent on their original buy-in prices but if you've got a lot of cash as an asset management company, there's not much downside even with a late entry.

ALL IMO though nor do I support these practices.
