doesn't make any sense. you don't fire you star quarter back unless absolutely necessary. only way your theory would make sense is if the 2nd in charge could prove wrong doing and blackmailed him to step down. otherwise you cover it up and reprimanded people accordingly.
there could be 100 reasons why they went there seperate ways. most damaging to the company would have been Jim wanted to be transparent and up front about tough times coming up and board didn't.
they could have disagreed about direction over acquisition which has nothing to do with future future profitability of current mines. know one knows but would be good to get some clarity. at least they didn't make anything up like he has to step down due to health reasons
