It's sad to read some traders got "stuck".

To be successful in trading, traders need strict rules with no emotions attached and should accept it's not always going to be a win with every trade. It's always a 50/50 gamble - market direction could change in the blink of an eye not matter what the charts, fundamentals or sentiments say. Only smart money with large enough funds can predict the direction because they are the ones deciding what happens, but even they may get surprises at times.

Traders do well if over time the sum of wins and losses gives a positive balance. But traders thinking they can always win are only guaranteed to lose over time.

For instance if a trader got in at 3c, the rule could be to put a stop loss at 2.8c and take profit at 4c, then wait for a retreat to re-enter.
If no stop loss is placed and it falls to 2c, then it's the trader fault they are "stuck" for either not having set rules or letting emotions take control of them and abandoning their rules, hoping things will turn around in their favour.

Anyone investing in spec stocks needs to understand there isn't massive investor base to support the share price as it's a huge risk, hence there'll be massive swings in SP.

However those that focus on the final prize get to reap heaps of rewards for their patience.
