All this is very true as it applies to TNG and probably the NT, but others and elsewhere in Australia.....???
If you disagree, ask yourself what did you do or consume this week that destroyed the environment? Why wasn't the activity outlawed?
Apparently electricity, generated by a Coal fired power station - it would appear 'coal' is a dirty word these days and many in Australia do seem to want it outlawed, even though it is cheap and reliable.
And with regard to EA's and "Commercial and economical benefits outweigh any potential environmental lobbying", I'm sure the people in central Queensland looking for employment out of the proposed Adani Coal mine would certainly agree with you.....Not.
