Just thought I'd give an update and thanks for the replies and advice. I really appreciate it.
Very happy since we finally got the interest on the deposit money from the selling agent after a few direct and blunt emails.
Still have not received the outstanding rent and an application has been lodged with tenants tribunal against the tenant. Apparently he just decided to stop paying rent because he wanted further compensation for the inconvience of having inspections. He has vacated and the managing agent said we will receive all of the bond as part payment of the unpaid rent. So all in all it has worked out.
