what people seem to forget is that short selling is as risky as anything else in the market place.

It looks attractive now but it has been a one way ticket to the poor house for the past 15 yrs or so.

Shorting is bloody dangerous,especially during a bear market.

Bear market rallies are vicious.

Everyone said we were in a tech bubble when the Nasdaq hit 2000 points in 1999.

That bubble finally popped at 5200 odd points.

If you tried shorting that rally you would have lost your shirt.

Shorts are no different to anyone else in the market.

My main point is that poor management is to blame for low SPs.
