“So all these automakers have to make their own batteries. There is chemical plants for making the lithium hydroxide between the battery makers and lithium resources. That area is now being monopolised by a few companies who hold shares in Australian hard rock resources“

I’ve been thinking about the above as players are over the place.

VW - going to Ganfeng converter
    Toyota - going to ORE
Tesla - going directly to kdr

Interesting 6-12 months ahead as more players raise their hands.

Wesfarmers has a robust chemical business and lithium is said to fit in. But how about the other biggies. We only hear of Mitsubishi Chem and LG Chem. But there’s other much bigger ones such as BASF and DuPont, just wondering whether they’ll simply watch the show. A telling on BASF’s interest in lithium though is its recent MOU to buy lithium Hydroxide from a minnow Canadian company Desert Lion Energy (the latter now merging with LPD).

Now based on the scarcity of uncommitted deposits, LTR is in the box seat.

Won’t let this get away. But it seems sellers at these prices sub 5c are not convinced.
