It is to the detriment of society that nuclear is still seen as non-viable politically.
Slap bang in the middle of a continental plate and with rich fuel deposits we are a fission dream. The multi stage plants developing in India show a means to produce power with a relative short half life waste product.
it should at the very least be considered as a baseload source as we transition, but alas. I guess we just have to keep hoping that one of the tokamaks come good.
