A very short history of AMP.
They were at $21 in 2000 & were a principal sponsor of the Sydney Olympics.
They were a darling of the Superannuation funds at the time, apparently.
They slid down over the years to sub $10.There was talk of NAB bank taking them over at about the $8 mark.
They made a financially disastrous foray into the UK pensions (Superannuation) business.(Lost about $4 billion there.)
The last I heard, many years ago, was that their true value was in the Financial Planners network that they have/had.
