Toyota claim the current Camry uses 8.9 litre per 100km for the manual and 9.9 for the auto.

Just by dropping on a gas system alone consumers could save thousands while helping the environment. The car will be cheaper than the hybrid to produce and instead of buying $10,000 dollars worth of batteries every 10 years you only pay a couple of hundred to have the tank tested.

    9.9*1.57=$15.54 for petrol.

    9.9*0.639=6.33 for LPG

The LPG rebate scheme gave all Australians the opportunity to benefit from this.

Will batteries in hybrid cars be as cost effective and are they good for the environment long term?

Electric cars are the way of the future but just like LPG there is currently no tax on these forms of fuel. This represents a conundrum for a government reliant on fuel taxes.
