And it is for these reasons SMSF get targetted as being non-compliant. You can buy property but you can't buy your existing residential or investment property unless it is a commercial property for your current business activity.
Other than that you can only buy new residential or commercial property in a super fund.
Learn the super rules and do not mess with them. The ATO will rip into you deeper than a white pointer on steroids and you will stuff it up for those who are compliant.
