are teachers overpaid, page-44

A hardy perennial, with arguments for and against often citing long leave, short periods in class, stress, marking papers at home etc.

The profession attracts a certain type, and it would be simplistic to describe that type as someone who abhors the real world and prefers the cloistered classroom from cradle to grave.

It would be simplistic to dismiss them as placing preponderance on union activity with pushes for shorter classroom hours and more pay.

I am certain many have a more noble reason for entering the profession.

And who to blame for a generation of the most attrocious English? If the internet has exposed one thing, it is the sheer inability to spell. Look at Ebay.

You shouldof seen lots of evidence of there inability :)

    Are teachers overpaid?

Or should the question read why don't we look at what we want our teachers to be and do and then assess the pay issue accordingly.
