I don’t like it myself. Even when it comes to options, I would only hold a put option for hedging, not speculation. It actually ended up being a double bonus for call option holders this week.
Not only has the share price surge post div Ann, increased call option valuations but because this is an out of cycle or special dividend, the strike price will be adjusted in full at ex div date. Good for those who wrote call options, not so good for those who wrote puts.
