Australia has just gone through a very large real estate boom and its hard to see those rises happening so quickly again. You should have plenty of time when the prices start rising.

Locking in a cheaper purchase prise is good but if rates are high you may be worse off than waiting and paying slightly more - add in the possibility they they could still go down more before they come up.

If interest rates start coming down and prices start moving up - buy.
