(1.25)^x = N, where N is the multipler. So, x = log (N) / log (1.25) [logarithms to base e, base 10, whatever]. If N=2, x=3.1063. Whereas, 72/25 = 2.88. Or have I made an error? Also, if 18% compounded, x=4.1878. It's almost as easy to calculate.
