Yep, the fairies at the bottom of the garden will disappear en mass at end of this month. No more Democrats in the Federal parliament.

But the fuel pricing .... we are a nation of babies who turn to our government nanny everytime we want a major nappy change.

The mantra of the ignorant masses always is "The government should do something about....." no matter what the issue is.

Interfering with free market forces at this end (Austsralia) is laughable. But governments do have direct power over excise.

No government has ever made a substantial cut to fuel excise. Easy to impose it, but once imposed there to stay as the impost floods treasury coffers with windfalls.
