Yeah thats right they went ex dividend 60 cents however fell further than 60 cents - go figure
Sometimes it's better to say nothing rather than something dumb.
- The full value of the dividend, including the franking credit, is $0.857, so even buying for the day would have been a winning move.
- On the day the dividend was announced on 14-May the share price opened at $7.48. On the day they went ex-dividend the closing price was $8.27. Capital growth ($0.79) plus dividend ($0.60) plus franking credit ($0.257) equals profit of $1.647. That's a 22% return over the space of a week.
Perhaps you should look in the mirror next time when you say "go figure".
