Shorten's final gratuitous insult to Australian voters who rejected him (i.e that they were incapable of independent judgement and were manipulated by vested interests) provides a clear insight into the true character of the man and his manifest unfitness to have ever occupied Australia's highest political office or, for that matter, any political office.
Which is why Shorten's continued presence on Labor's shadow front bench and that of the likes of Keneally is such a gift and a free kick to Morrison.
Given Shorten's history my guess is that the larger part of Albanese's time will be taken up looking over his shoulder whilst Shorten plots and schemes in a reprise of the Gillard/Rudd era.
