Rugby Australia terminates Israel Folau's contract, page-118

The Australian reports this morning that erstwhile rugby fans have been voting with their feet over the decision by RA to terminate Folau's contract for practising his Christian faith.

The Waratahs usually average around 15,000; since the Folau issue that has dropped by 1/3 to around 10,000 per match. The Brumbies have dropped crowd numbers by 25%. Super rugby numbers
by viewers on Fox sports have similarly dropped. RA is a financial basket case and faces insolvency if Folau succeeds in any court action for wrongful dismissal and damages for loss of his career. For whatever reason, RA saw fit 18 months ago to appoint as its CEO, Raeleen Castle - a strange looking EMO woman who wears black lipstick and who was previously CEO OF the Canterbury Bulldogs - hardly a bastion of virtue, more like a remand centre for sports playing misfits. She has been an abject disaster. She engineered this decision.


Rather than sacking Australia's best player, RA would be better advised to sack the CEO who is running the " game played in heaven" into the ground.
