    the above is not an example of a "wash transaction". a "wash transaction" is when you hold shares that are making a loss and you sell them all to create a capital loss and then you buy them back again

    your example above is merely "trading" or "taking profits"

    the 10,000 shares sold in the above example is merely a taxable event
