Doesn’t seem like Chinese are ready to escalate trade war to next level right now, based on above. The RE threat bullet is in the pistol and it’s cocked with Xi’s finger on the trigger, but it can just as easily be put back in the holster. I don’t think anything much will change now until Xi and Trump atttend the G20 at the end of this month. I think Trump’s pistol trumps Xi’s in the end.
