Mr Siregar yesterday repeated claims previously made by Corby's sister Mercedes that his attempts to have the marijuana DNA-tested were rebuffed by Bali police, despite Australian Federal Police support for the proposal.
Sources confirmed the AFP offered their Indonesian counterparts access to facilities to test the defence's claim that the marijuana was planted to see if it matched stashes seized elsewhere. However, Bali police prosecutor Ida Bagus Wiswantanu said yesterday that "as I recall it, the only request was to have the evidence reweighed".
A spokesman from the Indonesian Attorney-General's office said Mr Tampoe's revelation would have no effect on Corby's prisoner status, even though it meant the lawyer had been in contempt of court.
"What was proven was that she possessed; the question of how she got them was not a matter for us to consider," prosecutor Bonaventura Daulat Nainggolan said.
