Just to clear up some confusion on this. Kemplant were contracted for the pre-pilot plant (St Mary's based) construction and commissioning alongside the Hazer team. "Demonstration" in the announcement did not reference the scale but the act of demonstrating the technology above lab scale. I think the original plan was for the PPP to be an intermediary before a demonstration scale facility was constructed. But the results from the PPP proved to be better than expected, especially with the upgrades with the second generation reactor allowing a further de-risking step in the Pilot-Plant scale. - From the announcements in July/August 2018.

The UWA research is a moot point, as Hazer's R&D team have been located within the University of Sydney since at least 2017 (check linkedin for hazergroup, the research team are all Sydney based last I checked). Regarding the results of the research, all the announcements regarding battery testing from the R&D team have their basis from the research done at the uni. - for example the announcement on the 10/05/18.
