Interesting thread, the arguments about the might of Israel, that hey can walk in and do what they want are ridiculous. Sure they smashed them in the 6 day war via pre-emptive strikes, but in another (maybe Yom Kippur), the Arabs had the Jews on their knees, but they made a serious strategic error. And then just go back a couple of years and look at Israel's failed invasion of Southern Lebanon. And Iran is a whole different ballgame, one they will want to play from afar, because if they have to be on the ground it will be ugly for them. Don't underestimate the Arabs with their tenacity and guile when it comes to combat.

An interesting speech was made by Osama Bin Laden in 2004, he said that he will beat America, by forcing it to fight on so many fronts, that the country will be ruined financially. He gave an example of an operation which may cost him a small amount of money, will cause the Americans hundreds of millions to retaliate. It is worth hunting down, shows he is quite calculating, and maybe prophetic.
