last I checked acne is neither internal, nor hospital specific. And bacterial infections are both internal/external and get the easiest access through open wounds and mucous membranes (hence nasal wash and mouth wash).
The point of the tech is that it's generalised but can be suited to specific regions that were previously untreatable as treatment was either to invasive or chemically damaging
