To me it does they're confident no matter what happens that LIFX is a win, if that's the case it makes sense.
Easy path to being as public company and help out. Some people aren't greedy and we don't know the extent of the friendship. I'm almost certain LIFX is confident im surviving no matter what.
As I'm starting a business i do know that being a good person ( which DM is) helps with arrangements and agreements. People want to help, all IMO.
